He plays the arrival, works the cocktail floor with a wireless mic, carries dinner and awards and closes the night. If the venue has no sound, he brings his own.

Ian is a corporate event saxophonist based in Nairobi. His corporate and institutional work includes the Kenya Bankers Association Chairman's Ball, the African Blockchain Conference and government events, and he has played a surprise performance in the Senate chambers of Kenya.

He performs at launches, galas, conferences and award dinners across Kenya. A travel fee applies outside Nairobi, and he can provide a sound setup if the venue needs one.

Booking terms for a corporate event saxophonistHow it works

Hourly packages have a 2-hour minimum. Your date is held once the deposit is paid.

Deposit
40 percent, paid before the event. The date is held once the deposit is received.
Balance
Can be paid on the day.
Payment methods
M-Pesa, cash, cheque, USDT/USDC, Bitcoin.
Cancellation
10 percent of the deposit is refundable on cancellation.
Travel
A travel fee applies outside Nairobi, quoted by location.
Minimum booking
2 hours for hourly packages.
Sets
30 to 45 minutes, with 20-minute breaks between sets.
Overtime
80 percent of the hourly rate.
Sound
Ian can provide a sound setup if required.
The venue provides
Power, a meal for the performer, and either an appropriate sound setup or space for Ian's own.

Do you bring your own sound equipment?

Yes, if you need it. Ian can provide a full sound setup, so you have one less supplier to arrange.

How long do you play?

Most events run 2 to 3 hours in total, played in sets of 30 to 45 minutes with 20-minute breaks in between.

Do you perform outside Nairobi?

Yes, across Kenya and beyond. A travel fee applies outside Nairobi, based on location.

Can you play alongside a DJ, band or MC?

Yes. Ian regularly works alongside DJs, bands and MCs.

How far in advance should we book?

At least a month ahead is best, but get in touch for any date. Your date is held once the deposit is paid.
